A JAGUAR ambushes a stunned caiman – by exploding from a river like a CROCODILE. The 20-stone cat then sinks its teeth into the eight-foot reptile before dragging it back across the water and into the jungle. The unbelievable kill sequence was captured by videographer Sally Eagle in the Pantanal Wetlands of Brazil.

Tourist Grant Ford and his son captured a shocking incident on camera recently when touring Kruger National Park, after seeing a leopard attack a tour guide and then get run over twice by park rangers.

The clearly pissed off leopard attacked guide Curtis Plumb, grabbing and locking onto his arm. Obviously, this isn’t ideal, but neither is running it over TWICE, which is exactly what happened. And after deciding the animal was too injured to carry on living (because being run over twice kind of does that to you), they put it to sleep.

The Maxabeni 3:3 young male leopard takes on a warthog sow as big as himself. The leopard puts his own life on the line for the sake of a warthog kill. Both the leopard and the warthog become locked in mortal combat as each tries to ensure their own survival. Warthogs have been known to kill leopards in situations such as this and big male leopards will often kill bigger warthogs than this!

The leopard (Panthera pardus) is a member of the Felidae family with a wide range in some parts of Africa and tropical Asia, from Siberia, South and West Asia to across most of sub-Saharan Africa. It is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List because it is declining in large parts of its range due to habitat loss and fragmentation, and hunting for trade and pest control. It is regionally extinct in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuwait, Syrian Arab Republic, Libya and Tunisia.
The leopard /ˈlɛpərd/ is the smallest of the four “big cats” in the genus Panthera. Compared to other members of the Felidae, the leopard has relatively short legs and a long body with a large skull. It is similar in appearance to the jaguar, but is smaller and more slightly built. Its fur is marked with rosettes similar to those of the jaguar, but the leopard’s rosettes are smaller and more densely packed, and do not usually have central spots as the jaguars do. Both leopards and jaguars that are melanistic are known as black panthers.
The species’ success in the wild is in part due to its opportunistic hunting behavior, its adaptability to habitats, its ability to run at speeds approaching 58 kilometres per hour (36 mph), its unequaled ability to climb trees even when carrying a heavy carcass, and its notorious ability for stealth. The leopard consumes virtually any animal that it can hunt down and catch. Its habitat ranges from rainforest to desert terrains.

Leopards show a great diversity in coat color and rosettes patterns. In general, the coat color varies from pale yellow to deep gold or tawny, and is patterned with black rosettes. The head, lower limbs and belly are spotted with solid black. Coat color and patterning are broadly associated with habitat type. Their rosettes are circular in East Africa but tend to be squarer in southern Africa and larger in Asian populations. Their yellow coat tends to be more pale and cream colored in desert populations, more gray in colder climates, and of a darker golden hue in rainforest habitats. Overall, the fur under the belly tends to be lighter coloured and of a softer, downy type. Solid black spots in place of open rosettes are generally seen along the face, limbs and underbelly.
Leopards are agile and stealthy predators. Although they are smaller than other members of the Panthera genus, they are able to take large prey due to their massive skulls that facilitate powerful jaw muscles. Head and body length is usually between 90 and 165 cm (35 and 65 in). The tail reaches 60 to 110 cm (24 to 43 in) long, around the same length as the tiger’s tail and relatively the longest tail in the Panthera genus (though snow leopards and the much smaller marbled cats are relatively longer tailed). Shoulder height is from 45 to 80 cm (18 to 31 in). The muscles attached to the scapula are exceptionally strong, which enhance their ability to climb trees. They are very diverse in size. Males are about 30% larger than females, weighing 30 to 91 kg (66 to 200 lb) compared to 23 to 60 kg (51 to 130 lb) for females. Large males of up to 91 kg (200 lb) have been documented in Kruger National Park in South Africa; however, males in South Africa’s coastal mountains average 31 kg (68 lb) and the females from the desert-edge in Somalia average 23 to 27 kg (51 to 60 lb). This wide variation in size is thought to result from the quality and availability of prey found in each habitat. The most diminutive leopard subspecies overall is the Arabian leopard (P. p. nimr), from deserts of the Middle East, with adult females of this race weighing as little as 17 kg (37 lb).
Other large subspecies, in which males weigh up to 91 kg (200 lb), are the Sri Lankan leopard (P. p. kotiya) and the Anatolian leopard (P. p. tulliana). Such larger leopards tend to be found in areas which lack tigers and lions, thus putting the leopard at the top of the food chain with no competitive restriction from large prey items. The largest verified leopards weighed 96.5 kg (213 lb) and can reach 190 cm (75 in) in head-and-body length. Larger sizes have been reported but are generally considered unreliable. The leopard’s body is comparatively long, and its legs are short.

A safari tour guide was forced to pull his arm free from the jaws of a leopard when the ‘cunning’ animal launched a surprise attack on his truck.
The vicious leopard attempted to enter a truck full of tourists at the #KrugerNationalPark in #SouthAfrica as the visitors were being shown around the popular destination.
Curtis Plumb, 38, of Nhongo Safari Tours, sustained deep cuts and bites to his arm, but managed to free himself when tourists began throwing objects at the animal. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

This is just a short video of a Leopard trying to open a car door in Kruger National Park .Great Kruger Sighting for tourists. The video also illustrates why tourist should keep windows closed(rolled up) when approaching dangerous animals. American tourist Katherine Chappell was recently killed in an attack by a Lion in one of South Africa’s many Lion Parks.Her window was open(down) as she approached Lions in a Lion Park although there was numerous warnings against this practise. Guides and Rangers in Kruger have been involved in Leopard attacks on occasion before and recently again a Leopard attacked a Guide and bit on his arm while on a Game Drive in KNP. In the latest Leopard attack the Leopard had to be put down due to injuries sustained in the attack.

A cunning leopard dives from a tree into an unsuspecting group of impala – and emerges from the pack with breakfast. The sneak attack caused the herd to flee in fright – except for one poor animal that was stuck in the female cat’s vicious grasp. Within seconds the attack was over – and the leopard held its prize in its jaws. Yasmin Tajik, 41 from Las Vegas, took the photos on August 13 while on holiday in Botswana.

What is it?
The leopard is one the five “Big Cats” characterized by its black rosettes along its fur. They’re notorious for their deadly hunting skills in which they use stealth and speed to their advantage, running at up to 36 mph (58 km/h) and being able to climb trees even while carrying a heavy carcass. They eat humans and other animals alike, feeding on whatever prey they can hunt and catch.

Where are they located?
As seen here, leopards are found in abundance in sub-Saharan Africa and in fragmented populations throughout the Middle East as well as South and Southeast Asia. Attacks occur regularly in Nepal and India, such as in Mumbai. In fact, attacks on humans are so common in certain regions of India that the leopards are responsible for more human deaths than all other large carnivores combined.

How will they kill you?
Leopards are versatile and opportunistic predators with hunting methods similar to that of a lion. They kill most of their prey at night by silently stalking them then pouncing at the very last minute, aiming for their victim’s throat with a quick, swift bite where the prey ends up in a struggle for survival. Afterwards, they’ve been known to drag the bloody carcass of their recent kill up a tree to stash aside, a difficult task in which they’re capable of doing with animals up to twice their own weight. Some of the largest animals they can carry up is the antelope or the impala.

How to Survive:
Like most animals, leopards are terrified of humans and will attack only if they or their cubs feel threatened, such as a hunter in Africa or at Kruger National Park. Survival of an attack is similar to that of a wolf or lion. Use the incredible and useful defensive fetal position to protect your neck from being bit as well as any extremities from being torn off. At the same time, use whatever weapons you have to defend yourself and if you don’t have any, strike its facial area since this is the most sensitive part of the leopard’s body. Once the leopard flees, go to a hospital immediately to treat your wounds and prevent infection.

A leopard was caught on camera attacking a forest guard in a village in Siliguri in West Bengal. The leopard strayed into Prakash Nagar village from a forest nearby. Residents summoned help. Forest officials tried to tranquilize the leopard who was unnerved by the large crowds that were following him. The leopard injured five people before he was hit by rubber bullets. Local officials say the leopard has been taken back into the forest.
