When it comes to attacking another animal, wolves barely have any preferences. The size really does not matter for them. This is a documentary by national Geographic channel, where a pack of wolves is filmed. Among their other activities, there is also the part when a large grey wolf is seen attacking an elk. Even when the target is larger than the wolf itself, they do not seem to really bother about it! The ferocity is even stronger when it comes to bigger targets, indeed!
